The Douglas County Historical Society/Watkins Museum of History seeks a part-time Development Director responsible for increasing operating revenue primarily through membership and fundraising activities. The position will assist with donor relations, major gifts, and planned giving and serve as the primary liaison with the Development and Membership Committees of the DCHS Board of Directors. This is a regular part-time position, non-exempt, 24 hours/week. Work schedule is flexible, some weekend/evening hours are required. Candidates should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years fundraising/marketing or similar experience, preferably in a museum, cultural institution, or non-profit environment. Candidates must have knowledge of the Douglas County/Lawrence community.
