Representatives from Freedom’s Frontier National Heritage area have teamed up with the Kansas City, Kan., Public Library to record oral histories of the Old Quindaro community. The Quindaro community formed along the banks of the Missouri river in Kansas in the 1850s. It was home to Wyandot Indians, abolitionists and suffragettes, and formerly enslaved African Americans.

The Library will host a kick off to the ongoing oral history collection effort on February 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
